BREAKING: Police Nab 30,313 Suspects, Seize 1,984 Firearms in Sweeping Operation

Nigeria Police arrested 30,313 suspects, rescued 1,581 victims, and recovered 1,984 firearms in 2024.

In 2024, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) achieved significant milestones in enhancing national security. According to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, the NPF arrested 30,313 suspects involved in various serious crimes, including kidnapping, cultism, murder, rape, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The police also recovered 1,984 assorted firearms and 23,250 rounds of ammunition of varying calibers. Additionally, 1,581 kidnapped victims were rescued, and 1,438 stolen vehicles were recovered.

These accomplishments were highlighted during an end-of-year meeting with senior police officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where IGP Egbetokun emphasized the importance of innovation in technology and operational strategies for 2025. He encouraged officers to adopt modern tools and progressive practices to enhance the Force’s effectiveness in crime prevention and investigation.

As the festive season approaches, the NPF is committed to implementing necessary measures to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all citizens, reinforcing its dedication to public safety and accountability.
