Abakaliki, Nigeria β In a significant breakthrough, the Ebonyi State Police Command has apprehended a suspect, Ovuta Chigozie, for possession of human skulls and firearms. The arrest took place in the Okoffia community, Ezza South Local Government Area, raising concerns about ritualistic practices and illegal arms in the region.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Joshua Ukandu, officers discovered two human skulls and three locally made guns in Chigozie’s possession. During interrogation, Chigozie confessed that the skulls were provided to him for the preparation of a spiritual concoction. Authorities are actively pursuing the individual who supplied the skulls to Chigozie.
In a separate operation, the police uncovered a criminal syndicate involved in altering the colors of stolen tricycles from neighboring states. This led to the arrest of four male suspects: Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba. Three stolen tricycles were recovered from these individuals, who admitted to receiving the vehicles from accomplices for color modifications.

Superintendent Ukandu emphasized that all suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
