In a bold statement likely to intensify political tensions, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of infiltrating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to destabilize it from within. According to the governor, the ongoing crisis plaguing the PDP is a deliberate scheme orchestrated by APC moles to weaken the opposition party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during an interview in Bauchi on Thursday, Governor Bala stated that certain individuals within the PDP are covertly working for the APC. He expressed frustration over the persistent infighting and divisions within the party, suggesting that these infiltrators are fanning the flames of discord for personal and political gain.
“This crisis in the PDP isn’t natural. It’s being engineered by moles from the APC who are hell-bent on destroying our unity,” Bala said. “These agents have infiltrated our ranks, and they are sowing seeds of division to ensure we remain weak and disorganized.”
Governor Bala’s remarks come amid increasing internal strife within the PDP, with factions struggling for control of the party’s leadership. The internal conflicts have raised concerns among party members and supporters, who fear that the disunity could jeopardize the party’s chances of mounting a serious challenge to the APC in the next general election.
However, the governor urged the PDP leadership and members to stay vigilant and not fall into the traps set by these so-called moles. He emphasized the importance of unity and discipline in the face of the threats posed by external forces.
“We must stand together now more than ever. The APC knows that a united PDP is a formidable opponent, and they will stop at nothing to divide us,” he warned.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, Governor Bala’s explosive accusations are likely to fuel further speculation about the alleged behind-the-scenes strategies of the ruling party.
The APC is yet to issue an official response to these allegations.
